MILWAUKEE – Tonight, Senator Johnson and Lieutenant Governor Barnes had their first debate for the U.S. Senate race in Wisconsin. Barnes is too liberal for Wisconsin – a fact Johnson repeatedly pointed out during the debate tonight. The Johnson campaign released the following statement following the debate:

“Ron Johnson is fighting for freedom against the dangerous policies of Mandela Barnes and his liberal allies,” said Ben Voelkel, Senior Advisor for the Ron Johnson campaign. “Barnes supports defunding the police, abolishing ICE, and disastrous policies that leave Wisconsin families less safe. This election is about choices, and the only person who will put Wisconsin first is Senator Ron Johnson.”
