The Ron Johnson campaign today released a get-out-the-vote digital adfeaturing former Republican presidential candidate John McCain encouraging Wisconsinites to support Ron Johnson and touting his bipartisan work to stand up for veterans and protect our national security.

The get-out-the-vote ad features McCain in front of an American flag. You can watch the ad here, and the script reads: “Hi Wisconsin, I’m John McCain and I’m asking you to get out and vote for Ron Johnson. Ron’s been a partner in standing up for our veterans and holding the VA accountable.

“As chairman of Homeland Security, he’s been a leader when it comes to keeping our nation safe. And I’ve seen him work across the aisle time and time again to get things done. He puts country first, and Wisconsin first, and that’s why we need to re-elect Ron Johnson on Nov. 8.”

Key Facts:

  • Ron has brought an outsider’s perspective to his time as chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, searching for areas of agreement and passing 83 bills out of his committee, 28 of which have been signed into law. Much of the legislation focuses on national security, or making the federal government more efficient, effective, and accountable.
  • Ron has stood up for Wisconsin’s veterans, supporting reforms to give them more access and choices for medical care in their communities and holding the VA accountable. When he learned of the tragedies at Tomah in January of 2015, he took immediate and effective action – launching a bipartisan investigation that led to the removal of those responsible.
  • Ron is working to strengthen our military, destroy Islamic terrorism, secure the border, improve our cybersecurity, and protect our critical infrastructure.
