Ron is using his private sector experience to solve problems and connect Wisconsin
The radio ad, called “Bridge” can be heard here. It opens with a narrator running through a list of reasons that had held up construction of a replacement for the Stillwater Lift Bridge for decades, and the ensuing headaches those delays caused.
Those problems were addressed when Ron worked with Senators Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Al Franken (D-Minn.) to pass the St. Croix River Crossing Project Authorization Act. A new bridge is currently under construction and is on track to be completed next year.
“Ron Johnson knows we can accomplish a lot of things if people work together toward a common goal,” the ad’s narrator says. “For Ron, that’s how you solve problems, and he’s proven time and time again he’ll work with anyone to get the job done.”
- Ron was an original co-sponsor of S. 1134, which authorized the construction of a new bridge over the St. Croix River.
- The new bridge is expected to open in 2017, replacing the 85-year old Stillwater Lift Bridge.
