Senator Ron Johnson, Chair of the Homeland Security Senate Committee, is responding to the Orlando shooting saying, “we must unite to defeat terrorism’s threat to our nation’s security.”
He says his committee is working hard “to support the federal role in investigating this terror attack and protecting against further threats.”
Local 5 spoke with Senator Johnson on Monday, and he says Islamic terrorism is real and we must recognize that it’s a growing threat.

“You’ve got to take out the hornet’s nest, and we have to defeat ISIS. We have to wipe them off the face of the planet,” says Senator Johnson.
He believes we must unite as Americans to defeat terrorism’s threat to our nation’s security.
