Press Memo: Ron Johnson & Scott Brown Make Milwaukee Area Stops, Visit State Fair

Ron Johnson traveled with Senator Scott Brown, winner of “the people’s seat,” around Milwaukee on Sunday and Monday, visiting the Wisconsin State Fair, holding a Republican rally and sitting down to listen to the concerns of veterans, young professionals and other Wisconsinites.

Their message: this is Wisconsin’s Senate seat, not Senator Feingold’s. Just as Ron defied the odds by defeating Feingold, a professional politician and 18-year liberal icon to Democrats in Washington, D.C., Scott Brown won what was dubbed “the people’s seat” in 2010, beating liberal Boston Democrats out of a seat held by Senator Ted Kennedy for decades.

See details and photos on Ron and Scott’s stops together below:

  • Wisconsin State Fair – Ron and Scott’s first stop on Sunday afternoon was the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in West Allis, where they listened to the concerns of fair-goers while taking in the sights. Ron spoke with fair-goers in the exhibition hall, and Ron and Scott got behind the counter at Adeline’s food booth to serve corn on the cob. They made a second swing through the fair on Monday afternoon. [See photos from the fair on Sunday here and here, and Monday here and here.]
  • People’s Seat Rally – Also on Sunday, Ron and Scott joined dozens of grassroots volunteers for the “People’s Seat Rally” at the Wisconsin Republican Party of Wisconsin’s Waukesha Field Office. Both Ron and Scott spoke, then took questions from the crowd. [See a photo from the event here.]
