Superior, WI ( — Wisconsin U.S. Senator Ron Johnson is visiting multiple counties in the Northwest part of the state today.

Johnson stopped in Superior for a town hall meeting this morning to meet with veterans and hear their concerns.

He also talked about the Republican debate, and how the high number of candidates may not necessarily be a bad thing.

“It’s not going to be a negative campaign; it’s going to be positive. In order to break through you’ll have to convey real ideas, provide real proposals, real policies, in terms of how we can start meeting these enormous challenges facing this nation,” said Johnson (R-WI).

Johnson will wrap up his visit to Northwestern Wisconsin with a town hall meeting tonight in Mercer. He hopes his trip will promote tourism in the area.
