Ron launched his latest TV ad of the campaign yesterday – “All Talk” – which dismantles Senator Feingold’s so-called “plan” to destroy ISIS. The ad shows how Senator Feingold failed to support intelligence tools after 9/11, special operations, and terrorist surveillance of lone wolves – all proposals necessary to carry out his so-called “plan” on how to deal with terrorism.
Ron’s ad received statewide and national media coverage. Check out what they’re saying:
The Cap Times: “Ron Johnson continues to attack Russ Feingold on national security. … The Johnson ad, titled ‘All Talk,’ accuses Feingold of being just that when it comes to national security policy. ‘Time and again during his 34 years in politics, Sen. Feingold has said one thing and done another, and his sham ‘plan’ is proof that it’s simply too dangerous for Wisconsinites to give him a fourth term in Washington,” said Johnson spokesman Brian Reisinger. ‘The contrast in this race on keeping local communities safe could not be more clear — Ron Johnson is pushing for real solutions to protect our national security, while Sen. Feingold plays political games like a typical career politician.’”
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: “Johnson ad jabs Feingold on security. … The ad, titled ‘All Talk,’ features footage from a Feingold spot in which he discusses his plan to combat the Islamic State. A narrator counters ‘Feingold was the only senator to vote against intelligence tools after 9/11. Feingold also opposed special ops when he voted against authorizing our military – 11 separate times. And he voted against terrorist surveillance on lone wolves.'”
Politico: “New Johnson ad attacks Feingold on national security. GOP Sen. Ron Johnson’s campaign is out with a new TV ad criticizing former Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold on his national security votes in the Senate. ‘Feingold was the only senator to vote against intelligence tools after 9/11,’ the narrator says. ‘Feingold also opposed special ops when he voted against authorizing our military 11 separate times. And he voted against terrorist surveillance on lone wolves.’”
Right Wisconsin: “In a new campaign ad entitled ‘All Talk,’ Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Oshkosh) continues to hammer on former Sen. Russ Feingold’s weak on terror record. … That ad heavily quotes a recent ad by Feingold, but contradicts what the the former three-term Democrat is saying he’ll do to fight terror with his voting record. … At the heart of the ad’s argument is how after years of being a foreign policy dove, Feingold suddenly wants to play the tough guy.”
WisPolitics: “U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s campaign is out with a new TV and digital ad hitting Dem Russ Feingold on national security. The 30-second spot, which is running statewide, starts off showing clips from a recent Feingold TV ad as he talks about fighting ISIS. Feingold, says, ‘Use special forces and targeted military strikes, better human intelligence.’ A narrator then cuts in. ‘But Feingold was the only senator to vote against intelligence tools after 9/11,’ the narrator says.”
Daily Caller: “New ad slams Russ Feingold on national security flip-flops.… Johnson slammed former Sen. Russ Feingold in a video Wednesday for the inconsistencies between his voting record on national security issues and his plan to defeat the Islamic State. Johnson has repeatedly slammed his opponent for the policy decisions. He even went after Feingold in his speech at the Republican National Convention for failing to support measures designed to provide the military with the resources needed to protect against acts of terror.”
